My Career Journey at Renesas

Renesas has been a place where I’ve continuously been able to grow. I’ve explored multiple different career paths and have always felt a strong culture of support and mentorship that helps you feel confident along the way. That progressive environment encourages you to take ownership, lead new ideas, and grow from day one.

How Early Experiences Shaped My Career at Renesas

I joined Renesas in 2022 after interning at Reality AI, a startup later acquired by the company. While finishing school, I moved into a part-time business development role supporting the Embedded Processing team. What stood out early was how seriously my contributions were taken, even as a student. I had access to senior leaders, the opportunity to share ideas, and the flexibility to contribute meaningfully while balancing classes. That foundation helped shape my mindset early. I saw firsthand how taking initiative could lead to real opportunity.  

I started as a sales intern, transitioned into part-time business development, then moved into a full-time sales role with rotations in both sales operations and broader operations. Eventually, I stepped into my current role as a Senior Financial Analyst, supporting both FP&A and controlling. That journey gave me visibility into customer needs, internal systems, industry positioning, and our product portfolio. Having worked across sales, operations, business development, and finance, I’ve gained a strong understanding of how Renesas operates end to end across its business functions. It shaped my ability to connect the dots between teams and think strategically about how each function drives performance. 

Throughout those transitions, I had managers and teammates who were willing to guide me, answer questions, and make space for me to contribute and learn. That support network was key to my development.

Renesas’ Culture of Collaboration and Support That Helped Me Grow with Confidence

That early trust motivated me to keep growing my career at Renesas. I’ve found the company fosters a culture that values initiative, cross-functional learning, and continuous improvement. Moving into business development required me to quickly understand Renesas’ embedded semiconductor offerings and how they’re positioned in global markets.

Building a strong technical foundation became one of the most valuable parts of my early experience. It gave me the confidence to speak to our customers, products, and the industries we serve, including automotive, infrastructure, industrial, and IoT. I now carry that experience into my current finance role, where I support cross-functional teams in planning and business decision-making.

One of the most rewarding projects I supported was a financial reporting initiative focused on improving visibility and access to critical business data. I had the chance to be a leader myself by identifying gaps, proposing my own solutions, and taking ownership of reporting tools. Leveraging platforms like Power BI, I helped improve transparency across ERP systems, streamline planning, and make reporting more interactive to support better decision-making. That project gave me the opportunity to think strategically, work across teams, and deliver results through initiative and follow-through.

Additionally, outside of my core role in finance, I’ve had the opportunity to support the Innovation Office. I worked on startup scouting, early-stage technology research, and market sensing in areas like robotics, AI, and healthcare. That work helped expand my strategic perspective and gave me exposure to how Renesas engages with emerging technologies and partners across the ecosystem.

You Have a Voice at Renesas

At Renesas, real responsibility comes early. If you show up with ideas and follow through, people listen. I’ve contributed to high-impact projects, worked closely with leadership, and built strong relationships across functions. I also participated in the CFO Round Table, where I met Shinkai-san in person and had the opportunity to engage with executive leadership alongside my teammates. 

That experience reinforced how accessible leadership is and how much they value insight from across the organization. Renesas is a place where you can build a long-term career. I’m excited to keep expanding my role in strategic finance and help shape the future of the business.
