The Battery Management System Business Division (BMS) is seeking a Security and Digital Processing Principal Engineer for the Battery Management IC (BMIC) – Automotive product line. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in driving Renesas’s growth in the exciting electrification of automobile industry. It will also be an opportunity to collaborate with other product lines to position Renesas for continued growth.

What we need:

You will be part of an expert team to create industry-leading products for battery management systems in the automotive and industrial domain. Based on customer requirements your responsibility is to analyze electrical, thermal, and impedance aspects of the battery system and our solution to optimize the overall system cost, performance, and usability by the customer. You will drive product requirements, external component selection and costing, board designs, and system function definition.


Qualifications

  • BSEE or higher degree of engineering/science with a proven background in the automotive environment.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in System Level Physics Simulation & Power Functions
  • Profound experience in automotive hardware design including associated standards and requirements.  
  • Experience in modeling electrical systems in Matlab as well as SPICE.
  • Further experience in automotive software and system development as well as experience in the development of mixed-signal semiconductor products is a plus.
