Staff Software Engineer


Job Description

Design and develop SW frameworks for Renesas IC's product evaluation, including design definition, GUI, automated testing, SW/HW interface and web-based technologies. Provide support to internal and external customers for SW issues, system integration and evaluation.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop and deliver software collateral for selected Renesas products.
  • Documentation of developed software.
  • Consistent high level of support for internal or external customers including training, delivery of suitable guides, on-site support etc.
  • Maintenance and development of SW Frameworks behind generated SW products.
  • Work with internal or 3rd parties to integrate / test delivered SW on targeted reference platforms

Key Performance Measures:

  • Hard goals: Deliver SW collateral in time for IC projects. Conformity with the established SW quality rules.
  • Soft goals (competence related): Good communication within group and with external parties. Feedback from key relationships.
  • Professional skills: Self-starter, innovative/creative/problem solving. Able to develop frameworks from scratch, test and debug software issues.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor level with deep working experience in Software engineering (6+ years or experience, or Academic level with 4+ years).
  • Fully competent in all aspects of software engineering, with focus on design, coding and testing.
  • Ability to perform SW system integration onto hardware reference platforms.
  • Web framework experience, Typescript, React, Electron.
  • Strong Python programming knowledge.
  • Ability to prioritise work, set goals and meet deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer (internal/external) interface ability, including cultural awareness.

Desirable:

  • C and C++ Programming knowledge.
  • GUI development experience. Qt framework.
  • Web based development experience. React framework.
  • Git knowledge.
  • Low level communication bus programming knowledge (I2C, I2S, SPI)
  • Low-level and bare-metal software experience.
  • Lab automation programming knowledge (PXI, GPIB, SCPI, instrumentation)
