Staff Software Engineer-AI/ML
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and integration of embedded software solutions for cutting-edge AI hardware platforms. This role requires deep expertise in FreeRTOS, low-level device driver development, and porting AI hardware IPs to embedded environments. You will collaborate closely with hardware, systems, and AI teams to deliver high-performance, reliable software stacks for next-generation products.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and implement embedded software using FreeRTOS for custom hardware platforms.
- Develop and optimize device drivers for various peripherals including I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and custom interfaces.
- Lead the porting of AI hardware IPs (e.g., NPU, DSP, custom accelerators) to embedded platforms, ensuring performance and power efficiency.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and validate hardware-software integration.
- Drive system-level debugging and performance tuning across firmware, drivers, and AI workloads.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of development processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++, with hands-on experience in FreeRTOS.
- Proven track record in device driver development for embedded systems.
- Experience with AI hardware IP integration, including performance profiling and optimization.
- Familiarity with hardware bring-up, board support packages (BSP), and low-level debugging tools (JTAG, logic analyzers).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, ONNX) on embedded platforms.
- Knowledge of security and bootloader development for embedded systems.
- Exposure to silicon validation and post-silicon software development.
