Renesas is looking for a pro-active and results-oriented Layout Engineer based out of our UK office in Harlow. To further strengthen our broad product development at our UK location we are looking for a Layout Engineer to join a team of highly skilled engineers to develop next generation power, analog and mixed signal technologies.
The Role
- Block level and top-level layout according to Renesas product generation process, especially for layout related Renesas design rules
- Support in block and top-level specifications
- Implement layout dependent design for yield.
- Implement layout dependent design for manufacturability (DFM)
- General understanding of packaging methods
- Solid understanding of foundry process, failure mechanisms, masking steps, and device construction
- Ensure block and top-level Design Rule Checks (DRC) and Layout versus Schematics Checks (LVS)
- Principle Role: 10+ year experience, Senior/Staff Role: 5+ year experience, Motivated/Energized Junior, or Graduate may be considered.
- Ensure block and top-level Design Rule Checks (DRC) and Layout versus Schematics Checks (LVS), Electrical Rule Checks (ERC), Antenna check rules.
- Use state-of-the-art layout techniques for matching (differential-pair, common centroid, interdigitation), ESD, latch-up prevention and parasitic reduction.
- R3D, P2P, or similar.
- Cadence tools/features: L/XL/GXL/Voltus/APR/Innovus (timing and non-timing critical circuits) – Physical verification: Assura, Calibre & PVS
- Process geometry: ≤90nm, 130nm, 180nm, 250nm – BCD or similar.
- Programming in SKILL, TCL or any other language is useful.
- Foundry’s: TSMC, VIS, Dongbu, Global etc.
- Floor planning and power routing concept and design
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in this field
- Motivation and ability to extend expertise and to develop a creative solution in the workplace.
- Knowledge or experience in automotive development process and standards, especially ISO 16949 & 26262 is useful.
- Team player
- Good command of English (writing and speaking)
