Staff Business Systems Analyst (ServiceNow Business Analyst)


Job Description

Role Purpose

To gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensure alignment between stakeholders and technical teams, and support successful delivery of ServiceNow initiatives including ITSM and HRSD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Conduct workshops, interviews, and analysis to capture business needs.
  • Review Enhancement Requests: Act as the first point of review for incoming enhancement requests, clarify requirements with stakeholders, and ensure completeness.
  • User Story Creation: Translate business requirements into clear, actionable user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation including BRDs, process flows, and user stories.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Process Analysis: Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in workflows.
  • Support Testing: Assist in UAT planning and execution, validate requirements against delivered functionality.
  • Tooling: Utilize ServiceNow capabilities for requirements tracking and reporting.
  • Change Management: Support communication and training for new processes and features.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in ServiceNow projects (ITSM essential, HRSD desirable).
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.
  • ITIL Foundation (nice to have).
  • ServiceNow Fundamentals or Implementation Specialist (bonus).

    • Requirements Quality: Percentage of requirements accepted without major rework.
    • Documentation Timeliness: Delivery of BRDs and user stories within agreed timelines.
    • Stakeholder Satisfaction: Feedback scores from workshops and reviews.
    • Defect Reduction: Fewer requirement-related defects during UAT and post-release.
    • Process Improvement Initiatives: Number of documented and implemented improvements.
    • Training Effectiveness: Positive feedback on change management and training sessions.
