Staff ATE Validation Engineer
Senior Test Development Engineer (ATE) - Advantest 93K (High Speed Memory Interface Focus)
This position requires a highly skilled and experienced Senior Test Engineer with a strong focus on high-speed memory interface testing (preferably DDR5) using Advantest 93K ATE systems. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of memory interface characteristics, testing methodologies, and a proven track record of success in developing and implementing robust test programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Test Program Development:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test programs for high-speed memory devices (DDR4/5) on Advantest 93K platforms.
- Design and implement efficient test methodology to accurately characterize device performance parameters (speed, timing, power, etc.) and roll out production solution.
- Utilize advanced test techniques such as parametric testing, functional testing, and electrical characterization.
- Develop and implement automated test routines for high speed efficient test execution and data analysis.
- Evaluate alternate solutions for high speed testing through external instruments or built in self-test.
- Test Hardware and Software:
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to tester and equipment.
- Integrate and maintain test fixtures and interface boards for high-speed memory devices.
- Collaborate with Design/Validation/Application engineers to ensure seamless integration of test solutions.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze test data to identify and diagnose device failures and performance issues.
- Generate comprehensive test reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize statistical analysis techniques to identify trends and improve test coverage.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance test efficiency, reduce costs, and improve test quality.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for test failures.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in memory testing technologies and industry best practices.
- Teamwork and Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Design, Validation, Product Engineering) to resolve technical challenges.
- Mentor and guide junior test engineers on best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in developing and executing test programs for high-speed memory devices on Advantest 93K platforms.
- Strong understanding of memory interface architecture and operation, preferably DDR5.
- In-depth knowledge of memory interface protocols and standards (e.g., JEDEC specifications).
- Expertise in using test software such as SmarTest, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) for test automation and analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with advanced test techniques such as parametric testing, high speed digital characterization, and statistical analysis including equalization and de-embedding techniques.
- Knowledge of high-speed signal integrity and impedance matching.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as JMP or Minitab.
- Experience with yield analysis and improvement methodologies.
