Staff Assembly Project/Program Design Engineer


Job Description

Purpose:

  • Support the project core team in Assembly Engineering throughout new product development, from initiation to qualification, ensuring a seamless transition to mass production with OSAT. Collaborate closely with the production team to monitor and facilitate ramp-up progress.

Accountabilities:

  • NPI Project Management & Decision-Making: Implement matrix project management to ensure efficient execution through the New Product Introduction workflow, meeting the needs of both functional management team and program managers.
  • Project Execution & Scheduling: Proactively manage timelines, ensuring smooth progress and promptly addressing potential delays.
  • Cost & Resource Optimization: Efficiently allocate resources, ensuring NRE expenses and cost are justified and well-managed.
  • Process Optimization/Continuous Improvement: Conduct detailed reviews, provide constructive feedback and recommendations, and collaborate with OSAT and supervisors to enhance processes.
  • Quality knowledge and Problem solving: Utilize strong quality assurance knowledge and analytical skills to make confident, well-informed decisions.
  • Independent Work & Leadership: Operate with minimal guidance, effectively summarizing complex situations for line management review.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical/ Material/ Chemical/ Electronics Engineering

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and quality engineering, with a solid understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and the bathtub curve.
  • Extensive experience in assembly processes for packages such as WLCSP, Bumping, FC-QFN, SOIC, SOT, etc., with a deep understanding of semiconductor industry workflows.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with a track record of developing solutions and best practices.
  • Good interpersonal skills, capable of mentoring and exchanging ideas across different professional domains. Adaptable communication style, skilled in persuasion and influence.
  • Familiar with office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, with strong organizational habits in filing, documentation, and summarization.
  • Over 8 years of experience in assembly processes.
  • Experience with automotive package requirements (preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of theories, practices, and design principles is preferred.
