Sr. Staff Customer Quality Engineer


Job Description

Job Purpose

Ÿ   The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) will work closely with cross functional teams across regions spanning from Product Groups, Engineering (apps, design, product/test, quality), Sales, FAE, as well as key Customer supplier quality management teams located in Taiwan.

Ÿ   The primary responsibilities include addressing customer quality-related inquiries and data requests, managing customer portal inputs, conducting quality review meetings to improve scorecard ratings, and coordinating with global Renesas teams to drive end to end customer FA/8D requirements, containment, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.

Ÿ   Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to understand their expectations and collaborate with internal teams to fulfill them effectively.

Ÿ   Work closely with the SQE OSAT teams to support customer audit requirements, including annual audits and 8D action follow up.

Job Description

Ÿ  Strong verbal and written English communication skills to effectively interact and communicate with teams primarily in but not limited to United States and Malaysia.

Ÿ  Excellent project management and problem solving abilities, with strong ownership in driving actions to closure.

Ÿ  Proficient in quality systems and tools (e.g., 8D methodology), with prior experience understanding both U.S. and Taiwan customer expectations and working styles. SMT line working experience is preferred.

Ÿ Broad knowledge of IC manufacturing and testing processes, with the capability to interpret FA reports and ATE/bench test data.

Ÿ Support BU/PG, Sales, and Distributors in defining and executing RMA strategies, and follow up proactively to prevent customer quality issues or potential line down risks.

Ÿ Strong organizational and time management skills; able to work independently and handle multiple priorities effectively.

Ÿ Serve as a direct customer interface with solid CQE expertise to analyze and resolve quality issues and concerns promptly.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience, Education of BS in EE engineering or equivalent. Strong English verbal and written communication is required. 
  • Strong Quality mindset and problem-solving skills to generate 8D report, presentations for customer and management summary.
  • Experience in Quality methodologies and activity. Solid understanding of semiconductor/IC and PCBA/SMT manufacturing processes.
