Sr Procurement/Purchasing Specialist
The Purchasing Specialist supports the Advanced Packaging line by ensuring timely and cost‑effective sourcing of MRO, indirect materials, and capital equipment. The role manages suppliers, supports NPI requirements, and partners with Engineering Team to develop the critical spare parts strategy. Responsibilities include driving cost savings, mitigating supply risks, and managing PR/PO and contract processes efficiently.
Renesas Electronics, a leading global semiconductor company, is rapidly scaling its AI-focused power delivery business. Products include high-performance digital power VRMs, multiphase controllers, Smart Power Stages (SPS), Vertical Power Stages (SPS with integrated capacitors and multiple silicon die), Power Towers (power modules integrating multiple SPS-equivalents with capacitors and inductors), and power MOSFETs.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing Management
- Develop sourcing strategies for MRO, Indirects, and CapEx.
- Build multi‑sourcing strategies for critical equipment and spare parts.
- Support NPI builds, trials, and new product introduction requirements.
- Supplier Management
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, warranties, and Service Level Agreement.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews (On time delivery, quality, service response).
- MRO / Spare Parts Management
- Coordinate with Engineering Team on preventive maintenance spares and urgent breakdown parts and develop critical spare strategy.
- Cost, Risk & Compliance
- Drive annual cost savings and cost up avoidance programs.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks (single source, long lead items).
- Procurement Operations
- Manage PR/PO cycle, contract management, support urgent breakdown procurement and expedite where necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
Mindset:
- Production‑First Orientation, Sense of Urgency & Ownership, Collaborative & Cross‑Functional Approach and Cost‑Conscious Without Compromising Reliability.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in manufacturing; exposure to semiconductor / electronics / advanced packaging preferred.
- Supplier base knowledge for advanced packaging (e.g., die attach/flip-chip/underfill/dispense, molding/encapsulation, Strip Grinding, solder printing etc ).
- Computer Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, reporting) and PowerPoint for presentations; familiarity with Word and procurement/SAP systems is an advantage.
