Sr Manager-Application Engineering
Role Overview
This role is responsible for defining, developing, and executing the RH850 Motor Control and Automotive Application Platform, with user experience, quality, and customer value as central design principles.
The Senior Manager will act as the platform execution owner, driving alignment across global cross‑functional teams and ensuring predictable delivery from concept through market release. This role requires strong technical depth in automotive applications combined with program leadership, platform decision‑making, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities (Compressed Version)
- Own the RH850 Motor Control and Automotive Application Platform strategy and roadmap, with user experience and customer value as core design principles.
- Drive platform‑level technical and business decisions, leveraging deep automotive application knowledge to position Renesas solutions as the best fit for target use cases.
- Lead end‑to‑end execution of platform development from concept through sample release, qualification, ramp readiness, and market launch.
- Align and motivate global cross‑functional teams (Design, Marketing, Systems & Applications, Validation, Product & Test Engineering, Firmware/Software, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Quality) toward shared goals and flawless execution.
- Manage program planning, tracking, and Project Gate Reviews, ensuring process discipline, schedule predictability, budget adherence, and execution efficiency.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical, schedule, quality, and supply chain risks, driving disciplined, data‑driven decision‑making and positive ROI.
- Serve as a clear communicator to stakeholders, providing structured updates on milestones, risks, qualification status, and release readiness.
- Champion quality, standardization, and scalability, continuously improving execution discipline while delivering a best‑in‑class end‑user development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Strong technical background in automotive electronics, motor control systems, or embedded automotive platforms.
- Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional product or platform development programs from concept through production release.
- Demonstrated ability to drive platform‑level technical and business decisions, balancing user experience, quality, time‑to‑market, and cost.
- Strong program management, execution rigor, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑paced, global environments.
Preferred Qualifications.
- Experience building embedded development platforms with broad adoption across the embedded engineering community, emphasizing usability, scalability, and developer experience.
- Experience handling Regulatory Compliance Certifications and Global Market Access (GMA) requirements for embedded electronic products.

We have adopted a hybrid model that gives employees the ability to work remotely two days a week while ensuring that we come together as a team in the office the rest of the time. The designated in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday for innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
