Sr. AI Engineer, Backend (Altium)

Transforming Sourcing into a Competitive Advantage is the mission of Part Analytics, an Altium Company. Our AI-powered supply management software empowers manufacturing companies to accelerate product development, improve profit margin and uncover hidden risks in the supply chain. 

We are looking for an AI Engineer who will play a foundational role in building AI-driven capabilities within our product ecosystem. This role requires someone who can work independently, take end-to-end ownership, and translate business problems into scalable AI solutions. 

You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to introduce AI features that create real business value. 

Responsibilities :

• Deeply understands LLM Capabilities and limitations 

• Architect multi-step Agentic systems that reason and not just generate 

• Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and AI-powered workflows. 

• Build evaluation infrastructure to know when things work 

• Ship production code with proper observability, error handling, and reliability 

• Design, build, and deploy AI/ ML solutions aligned with product goals 

• Identify use cases for AI within existing products and workflows 

• Work with structured and unstructured data to derive insights 

• Integrate AI models into production systems (APIs, services) 

• Monitor model performance and continuously improve accuracy and efficiency 

• Define AI best practices, documentation, and standards for the organization 

• Guide developers on AI adoption and implementation 

Required experience: 

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics  

• 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning and demonstrable experience in AI and Agentic systems  

• Strong proficiency in Python  

• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow / PyTorch / Scikit-learn  

• Experience with NLP, recommendation systems, or predictive analytics  

• Strong understanding of Algorithms, statistics, data structures  

• Experience of MLOps, model monitoring, and versioning  

• Experience in deploying AI models at scale using CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools  

• Responsible for defining KPIs for AI models (accuracy, latency, cost optimization).  

• Ability to translate technical solutions into business value and communicate with stakeholders  

• Lead AI initiatives, mentor team members, and define best practices for scalable and ethical AI solutions.  

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present AI-driven insights to leadership  

• Ability to work independently and take ownership
