Job Purpose:
- (Lead) Software Architect for Renesas wireless connectivity product Software
- Responsible for translating customer and marketing input to software specs
- Key contributor to Dialog’s software products roadmap definition
- Support and escort marketing in customer meetings, lead technical discussions
- Responsible to participate in (Bluetooth) industry standards activities and derive corresponding specifications for our SW and HW platforms.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop world class Software architecture for Renesas’s low power wireless connectivity silicon products
- Deliver clear specifications of software architecture to the SW Protocol and SW Platform development teams
- Drive SW Protocol and SW Platform developments with the SDK team and ensure deliverables are meeting the specification
- Define key performance indicators (footprint, CPU utilization, …)
- Support marketing activities and participate at customer meetings to help understand customer needs and identify improvements and evolutions needed in the SDK platform
- Scanning of related technologies and market trends; competitive SW architecture analysis
- React to customer requirements and issues
- Presenting Renesas’ technology and visions at customers or to management
- Lead Software feasibility phases for new low power wireless connectivity products
- Ability to convert loosely defined Product Requirements to well-structured Software Architecture Specifications and System Verification plans that meet the requirements of the customer.
- Technically supervise Software aspects for new low power wireless connectivity products
- Participate in Bluetooth SIG standardization activities.
- Provide organization regular feedback on trends.
- Incorporate feedback into specifications towards SW arch and development teams.
- Influence specification (where possible) in line with Renesas interests.
- System level know-how of low-power wireless systems and protocols, e.g. Bluetooth Smart and 802.15.4
- 5+ years deep working experience in Embedded Software Development.
- Experience in architectural specification and API definition
- Able to drive and work with remote SW development teams to realize the architecture
- Ability to analyze sometimes fuzzy client propositions/wishes of high complexity using best practices, based on internal technical knowhow and knowledge of clients’ systems
- Colleagues and customer development and coaching skills
Desirable
Experience in Zephyr Operating System and specifically the Connectivity stack
- Embedded System-on-Chip software architecture design and development knowledge
- Experience in Bluetooth single/dual mode stack development
- Embedded system HW knowledge
- Essential: Degree in Computer science, Electronics or embedded systems, with experience as system software architect for embedded systems
- Detailed technical experience in system definition/concept engineering within embedded systems/electronics/semiconductor industry
- Academic skill level and work attitude
