Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Robotics Development Engineer to design, develop, and integrate embedded robotic software solutions across platform, middleware, and application layers. The candidate will work on robotic systems built on Embedded Linux distributions, ROS2, and real-time OS environments, contributing to both system-level platform enablement and robotics application development. Candidates with experience in embedded Linux platforms, robotics applications, and real-time software development are highly preferred. Experience in technical leadership, system architecture, or mentoring in this domain or related fields is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Embedded Linux-based robotics platforms, including OSS packages, platform software, and driver integration.
  • Develop ROS2 software components, integrate AI/vision modules into ROS2-based systems, and validate functionality in simulation environments.
  • Design and implement robotics applications for perception, control, and autonomous functions.
  • Support hardware bring-up and system integration for robotic platforms, including sensor/actuator interfacing, calibration, and hardware-software validation.
  • Develop and integrate real-time software for robotic systems, including RTOS integration, platform bring-up, and communication with ROS2-based systems.
  • Contribute to system architecture discussions, software modularization, and interface definition across platform, middleware, and application layers.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve complex integration issues across software, middleware, and hardware.
  • Support technical reviews and knowledge sharing activities; experience in mentoring or technical guidance is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
  • Hands-on experience in Embedded Linux development, especially with Ubuntu and/or Yocto, including developing and maintaining Linux-based software platforms, package/library integration, OSS handling, and system-level software debugging.
  • Practical experience with ROS2 development and system integration.
  • Experience in robotics software development for perception, control, or autonomous functions.
  • Experience in robotics hardware integration, including sensor/actuator interfacing, calibration, and system validation.
  • Hands-on experience in real-time embedded software development, including RTOS integration, platform bring-up, and communication with ROS2-based systems.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across software, middleware, and hardware/software integration layers.
  • Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, including branching, code review, and issue tracking.
  • Good English communication skills for technical discussion, documentation, and collaboration.

Preferred / Plus Skills

  • Experience in advanced driver development and debugging, especially in areas such as camera, ISP pipeline, and DMA/memory/performance tuning.
  • Experience in AI/vision integration for robotics systems, including frameworks or libraries such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Experience with simulation and visualization tools such as Gazebo, MuJoCo, RViz, Foxglove, or equivalent environments.
  • Experience in locomotion, including motion control and odometry-related functions.
  • Experience in localization and navigation, including map usage, localization, and path planning.
  • Experience with NuttX.
  • Experience with micro-ROS or other ROS2-to-real-time domain communication frameworks.
  • Experience contributing to system architecture, software modularization, or interface definition in embedded or robotics software projects.
  • Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, or guiding engineering discussions in this domain or related fields.
