Senior Staff Program Manager – NPI Excellence, Governance and Central PMO support


Job Description

Renesas is seeking a Program Manager – NPI Excellence, Governance & PMO is responsible for driving process excellence, governance, compliance, and continuous improvement across the New Product Introduction (NPI) framework for the Power and Consumer Products (PCP) portfolio. This role serves as a key enabler of execution discipline by ensuring NPI processes, phase-gate deliverables, documentation systems, and quality management practices are standardized, optimized, and audit-ready. The individual will partner closely with PMO Leadership, Program Managers, Engineering, Quality, Operations, STO, IT and Corporate PMO teams to strengthen execution rigor, eliminate process inefficiencies, improve product development governance, and support strategic program management initiatives. The successful candidate will combine strong program management expertise with a passion for process improvement, systems implementation, organizational change management, and quality-driven execution. 

The PCP team product development portfolio includes digital multiphase controllers; smart power stages and 48v system power regulators all geared towards rapidly growing AI hyperscale data center market. During development, teams are expected to ship large volume samples and prepare for steep vertical ramps while maintaining compliance to execution processes and stringent quality standards necessary for the data center applications making this role critical for their success  

Key Responsibilities:

NPI Framework Enablement, Maintenance and Continuous Improvement 

  • Drive deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement of the NPI methodology across PCP and Power product portfolios. 

  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and close technical debt within existing NPI workflows and develop sustainable improvement plans. 

  • Maintain and optimize phase-gate processes, deliverable requirements, templates, and best practices. 

  • Lead initiatives to improve program execution consistency, predictability, and effectiveness. 

  • Help primary NPI framework to suit portfolio needs – such as discrete product development, Module Product development, IP execution projects, Incubation execution projects  

  • Pareto common themes for execution miss and drive continuous improvement to address systemic issues  

  • Lead implementation and continuous enhancement of document management solutions supporting NPI and PMO processes 

  • Drive standardization of documentation practices, change management controls, revision management, and approval workflows. 

  • Ensure controlled documents and program artifacts remain accurate, accessible, and compliant. 

Governance, Compliance & Quality Management 

  • Establish and maintain governance mechanisms to ensure compliance with NPI requirements and non-negotiable best practices, Quality Management System (QMS) standards, and corporate procedures 

  • Leverage AI to develop compliance and governance spot checks  

  • Drive audit readiness and support internal and external audits related to product development processes. 

  • Monitor compliance to phase-gate deliverables and ensure corrective actions are implemented when gaps are identified. 

  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve development discipline and execution quality. 

PMO Excellence and Corporate alignment 

  • Participate in Corporate PMO councils, working groups, and strategic improvement initiatives. 

  • Support development and deployment of enterprise-wide program management standards, methodologies, and governance practices. 

Execution Metrics and KPI management   

  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards that provide visibility into NPI health, compliance, execution performance, and phase-gate quality.  

  • Establish leading and lagging indicators to measure program effectiveness and organizational maturity.  

  • Analyze execution trends and identify opportunities to improve cycle time, quality, schedule adherence, and operational performance.  

  • Present actionable insights and recommendations to leadership teams. 


Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of hands-on Program Management experience within a major semiconductor company, leading end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) and product development programs. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex semiconductor product portfolios including combinations of Platform-based product families, Core technology developments, Derivative products 
  • Proven ownership of products from concept through development, qualification, manufacturing ramp, and production release. 
  • Deep understanding of stage-gate / phase-gate product development methodologies and associated deliverables, reviews, decision gates, and governance requirements. 
  • Experience implementing and improving NPI frameworks, PMO processes, governance models, and execution disciplines across multiple product organizations. 
  • Hands-on experience driving cross-functional programs involving Engineering, Product Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Test, Packaging, and Customer teams.  
  • Demonstrated success identifying process inefficiencies, closing technical debt, and driving measurable operational improvements. 
  • Experience participating in Corporate PMO councils, enterprise transformation initiatives, or company-wide governance programs.  
  • Demonstrated success building scalable NPI frameworks that support multiple product categories such as ICs, power products, modules, IP developments, and incubation projects. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field. Master`s degree Preferred. PMP preferred 
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational, and people skills  

Success Profile 

  • The ideal candidate is a semiconductor program management practitioner who has personally led products through multiple silicon development cycles and manufacturing ramps, understands the practical realities of product execution, and can translate that experience into scalable governance, compliance, PMO excellence, and continuous improvement across a growing product portfolio.
