Job Description

This position is in CMSD, which is part of Renesas’ Analog & Connectivity organization.  The CMSD R&D team develops and industrializes highly configurable mixed-signal products for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to consumer, communication, computing, data center, industrial, and automotive applications. CMSD team is the pioneer and dominant market leader of the highly successful GreenPAKTM family of products. This customer configurable product and platform enables customers to differentiate their products, reduces BOM cost and development cost and time. CMSD team is continuously expanding our product portfolio that includes high performance analog IP’s, DC-DC, and FPGA.

As a Senior Precision/High-Voltage Analog Architect, you will be responsible for leading the development of high-voltage and high-accuracy IP for integration in CMSD’s broad portfolio of products. As our high-voltage and precision analog specialist, guiding and mentoring team members is essential and one of your most important responsibilities. This is a senior technical leadership position, and you will be working with design and program managers to drive NPI (New Product Introduction) execution as well as continuous efficiency and performance improvement.

  • Architect and design high-voltage IP for industrial applications, with maximum operating supply voltage exceeding 100V. Specialized knowledge in HV ESD and process technology is a must.
  • Architect and design high-accuracy IP for industrial, medical, as well as IoT applications. The required voltage accuracy can be as stringent as 1uV.
  • Architect and design high-performance AFE (analog frontends) and signal-chain ecosystems, which include IP such as PGA (programmable gain amplifiers), precision voltage references, and data converters.
  • Guide and mentor CMSD’s global Design, Characterization, and Test Engineering team on high-voltage and high-accuracy design and test techniques.
  • Drive product definition and specification to achieve optimal tradeoffs between product competitiveness and development cost.
  • Collaborate with product definition and marketing on product roadmaps and long-term IP development plans.
  • Represent CMSD R&D and contribute to key technical meetings and initiatives at BU A&C and company level.
  • Actively participate in sharpening CMSD design methodology and way-of-working to ensure crisp and efficient execution.

Qualifications

  • MSEE or PhD in EE + 15 years semiconductor design leadership experience
  • Proven track record in designing high-voltage (> 70V) products.
  • Proven track record in designing high-accuracy products with resolution better than 1uV.
  • Proven track record in designing high-performance AFE products with ENOB of 16-bit or above.
  • Proven track record in taking these high-voltage and high-accuracy to production.
  • Highly knowledgeable in HV ESD, Latch-up, and IC reliability issues.
  • Extensive experience in leading and mentoring high-caliber design teams.
  • Highly knowledgeable in state-of-the-art design methodologies and tools.
  • Highly knowledgeable in state-of-the-art mixed-signal and BCD process technologies.
  • System and application knowledge in CMSD target markets a plus.

Additional Information

The expected annual pay range for this position is $195,000 - $300,000. This position is also eligible for bonus pay. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
