Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Silicon Carbide (SiC) materials and reliability division. As the Senior Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving the research, development, and implementation of SiC materials (especially epitaxy) across various applications, ensuring reliability and performance excellence. This position requires a deep understanding of SiC materials, along with expertise in reliability engineering and a proven track record of leadership in a technical environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Strategy:
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the SiC materials and reliability division, aligning with overall company goals and objectives.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive roadmap for advancing SiC materials and reliability, considering market trends, customer requirements, and technological advancements.
  2. Research and Development:
    • Lead research initiatives to enhance the understanding of SiC materials properties, performance characteristics, and reliability mechanisms.
    • Drive innovation in SiC materials design, processing, and manufacturing techniques to improve performance and reliability metrics.
  3. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Engagement:
    • Foster strong collaborations with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and product development to ensure seamless integration of SiC materials into products.
    • Work closely with external partners, research institutions, and industry consortia to stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in SiC materials and reliability.
  4. Quality Assurance and Reliability Engineering:
    • Establish and implement robust reliability testing methodologies and protocols to assess the performance and durability of SiC materials under various operating conditions.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability and longevity of SiC-based products, addressing failure modes and root cause analysis.
  5. Team Management and Talent Development:
    • Build and lead a high-performing team of scientists, engineers, and researchers, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the SiC materials and reliability division.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in silicon carbide materials research, development, and reliability engineering.
  • Proven track record of leadership in a technical or R&D environment, with experience managing interdisciplinary teams.
  • Deep understanding of SiC materials properties, processing techniques, and reliability mechanisms.
  • Expertise in reliability engineering methodologies, failure analysis, and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans, prioritize initiatives, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
