Regional Business Lead - low end MCU on automotive market


Job Description

The Business Lead (BL) is responsible for strategy, execution, business performance and ownership of a defined subset of the Embedded Processing product family, including microcontroller, microprocessor or connectivity ICs and related hardware/software platforms. Reporting to the Product Line Manager (PLM), the Business Lead drives product investment and roadmap strategy based on market needs, product definitions, execution, pricing, marketing, revenue growth and lifecycle management, while partnering and influencing cross-functionally with engineering, sales, operations, marketing, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Job functions would include (but not limited to):

  • Product investment and roadmap strategy 
    • Develop a high-ROI product investment strategy for fast revenue growth aligned with market trends and target segments 
    • Ensure product definitions and roadmap meet short-term and long-term business goals 
    • Partner with marketing with ‘go-to-market’ strategy execution and product launch collateral 
    • Ensure sales and FAEs are trained and equipped with competitive positioning and promotional collateral 
  • Customer engagement 
    • Establish deep relationships with key customers 
    • Align with customers on product roadmap, and design-in support 
    • Track competition products and benchmark performance to update investment roadmap 
    • Support strategic account and regional reviews 
  • Lifecycle management 
    • Work with operations to manage product from concept through introduction, maturity and end-of-life 
    • Lead PCNs and EOL planning in close collaboration with operations 
    • Drive Operations to execute cost reduction initiatives (wafer/package/assembly cost reduction, test time reduction, multi-sourcing, die shrinks, etc) 
    • Coordinate technical updates, Product Change Notifications (PCN), Product Discontinuation Notifications (PDN), etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields. Master’s degree or MBA is a plus. 
  • 4+ years of experience in semiconductor, embedded systems, or related industries 
  • 2+ years in product management or product line management 
  • Experience in Strategic Marketing, Technical Marketing, Business development, Applications, Supply chain management, Cost management, or related roles 
  • Understanding of microcontroller in consumer, industrial, automotive and data center or communications infrastructure applications and systems
  • Understanding of: 
    • Microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex, RISC-V, etc) 
    • Embedded software ecosystems 
    • Semiconductor cost structures, wafer economics, and supply chain dynamics
