Quality Control Engineer


Job Description

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and manufacturing processes meet required quality standards. This role involves monitoring in‑process quality, performing data analysis, managing change processes, supporting audits, driving continuous improvement to enhance product reliability and manufacturing efficiency, ensures that new product introduction builds meet all quality and reliability requirements before mass production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, monitor, and drive improvement of critical product and process quality metrics (yield, defect rates, Cp/Cpk, and reliability).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Control Plans, PFMEA, risk assessments and product/process qualification activities to ensure stable and compliant manufacturing processes.
  • Drive cross-functional issue resolution with Process, Equipment, and Operations teams, leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why).
  • Support customer quality requirements, including audits, documentation control, and technical discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry and customer quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, customer-specific requirements) and continuously improve quality processes, lessons learned, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Applied Science.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience in quality, process, or manufacturing engineering within the semiconductor industry.
    • Plating process experience or chemical background are advantages.
  • Formal quality-related training or certification is an advantage:
    • ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / VDA 6.3
    • Core Tools (APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC)

Soft Skills

  • Strong coordination and communication with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Detail‑oriented with good documentation discipline.
