The Battery Management System Business Division (BMS) is seeking a System Modeling & Communication Principal Engineer for the Battery Management IC (BMIC) – Automotive product line. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in driving Renesas’s growth in the exciting electrification of automobile industry. It will also be an opportunity to collaborate with other product lines to position Renesas for continued growth.

What we need:

We are looking for a driven, creative, and highly motivated individual with automotive BMS system modeling & communication capability. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work across functional disciplines in support of delivery products to the market. Success requires a clear understanding of battery management system technology in automotive systems such as electric vehicle. The position requires international travel.

What You’ll do

• In depth expertise with large SystemC models of ICs and communication systems.
• Drive all SystemC modeling activities to create reference models for customer software validation and fault injection testing at customer side as well as to support internal verification and validation campaigns.
• Create and support related tool interfaces.
• Drive and collaborate in the definition of the proprietary communication systems needed for BMS.

Skills You’ll Need

• BSEE or higher degree of engineering/science with a proven background in the automotive environment.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in system modeling & communication.
• Curious and willing to challenge existing solutions with innovative technology concepts based on systematic problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English with great intercultural, social and communication skills in order to work in distributed international and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel abroad (up to 25% of time).
