Principal Engineer, SoC Verification


Job Description

  • Lead verification of power efficient IPs, Chiplets and Chips to meet functional and performance targets.
  • Actively manage the verification and the team to meet the project goals.
  • Take responsibility for delivering verification quality and executing timelines
  • Lead the verification team for test-plan development and reviews
  • Provide support to functional validation teams in post silicon debug
  • Review design specifications to improve their quality, i.e. fitness for verification
  • Prove correctness of design against specification
  • Design and develop verification systems, decomposition and hardware/software partitioning
  • Develop verification components
  • Optimize solutions for key indicators such as reusability, performance and ease of use
  • Identify and communicate improvements that may ease verification and/or improve design behaviour
  • Collaborate with other functional teams including Design, Validation, DFT, physical design and emulation teams to achieve project targets

Qualifications

  • BTech/MTech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 15+ years of hardware design/verification experience
  • 10+ years of experience in UVM and constrained random verification
  • Knowledge of variety of verification methodologies, platforms and techniques, e.g., Functional Verification, ABV, Formal Verification, regression frameworks, UVM, FPGA
  • Experienced with Cadence Xcelium, eManager+vManager, Verilog, VHDL, System-Verilog
  • Can – do attitude, openness to new environment, people and culture
  • Experience in Verification of Microcontroller and Microprocessor chips, Interconnect, Peripherals
  • Experience with functional, performance and UPF based low power verification
  • Able and experienced in independently setting up a UVM testbench from scratch, from specification to verification report
  • Ability to propose innovative and leading edge solutions
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), problem solving, teamwork, attention to detail, commitment to task, and quality focus
  • Experience in protocols like AHB/AXI/CHI, Memory (ROM, RAM, Flash, LPDDR/DDR3/4) and memory controllers
  • Strong domain knowledge of clocking, system modes, power management, debug, security and other domains
  • Prior experience with any of these would be a plus: High Speed Peripherals like DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, GPU, VPU (Video Processing Unit); NIC/FlexNOC interconnect; Flash memory subsystems.
  • Working experience with using Virtual Prototype tools (ARM Fast Models, Synopsys Virtualizer, Windriver SIMICS etc..) is a plus
