- Design and verify physical synthesis-based layouts to meet functional and performance specifications in order to give Dialog a competitive advantage in the IC market.
- Translate designs / physical synthesis-based layout requirements into optimum layout solutions.
- Generate synthesis/STA/layout timing constraints for all digital blocks used on chip. This will include clock constraints and input/output constraints were applicable.
Principal Accountabilities
- Ownership of the Synthesis and Physical Implementation for projects.
- Defining and ensuring correct procedures/review processes are implemented.
- Participates in feasibility studies.
- Build physical synthesis-based layouts meeting performance, area, power and timescale constraints.
- Participate and have a consulting function in design reviews.
- Advice/guide circuit/block design and layout.
- Schedule tasks and report progress to project leader, identifies possible project problems.
- Guide other engineers.
- Explore new design flows / new tool versions and report results.
- Master or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field plus 12+ years of deep working experience in digital backend design. This includes the making of timing constraints and timing closure on digital designs.
- Fully competent in all aspects of physical synthesis-based layout design, seeks technical guidance for unusual problems.
- Expert in back-end implementation flow (CTS, Floorplanning, PnR, Signal Integrity, ECO) preferably using Cadence tools.
- Ability to prioritize work, set goals, and meet deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical skills, customer focus/quality, communication/interpersonal skills, team participation, and innovation/problem-solving skills are important to convince others (e.g. in projects) based on technical knowledge and show assertiveness to alert superiors/colleagues.
- Develops and teaches colleagues in their own discipline.
- Applies advanced methods to complex problems. Demonstrates understanding of interfaces with other disciplines.
- Defines innovative solutions and can propose innovative and leading-edge solutions.
