As Principal Architect/Product Definer for Low Power Core team, you will be a key player driving innovation, defining next-generation product roadmaps, delivering best in class solutions addressing power efficiency and density challenges and writing product specifications (PRDs) in Client computing and related applications. You will engage cross functionally with a diverse team including IC design, Applications, Marketing, and other engineering teams to turn good ideas into reality.
This role combines deep knowledge of system level challenges from a customer perspective with knowledge of VR system technologies, IC design techniques, power architectures, trade-offs between competing priorities and others to arrive at optimal definitions for new products. You will use your understanding of system level considerations from the CPU vendor/customer to steer VR architecture and product roadmaps. Once validated and approved for execution, you will also have responsibility for capturing the ideas into a PRD that will be used as the guideline for the execution team. You will identify critical avenues of long-term value creation to support building a durable long-term business.
Location is flexible.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interface with customer systems engineers to understand big-scope perspective on challenges and value drivers.
- Analyze various VR approaches to determine how they fit in the big picture from a customers point of view.
- Build critical collateral to evangelize proposals and support customer engagement.
- Directly support top tier customer engagements to gain consensus on proposals and help drive them to revenue.
- Maintain key customer relationships to enable early market visibility.
- Be up-to speed on new innovations across the industry.
- This role requires deep technical strength in high performance power management related to CPU’s and other high current ASIC’s.
- Broad technical capability/exposure will be combined with excellent technical communication skills.
- Typical requirements are a minimum of 15-20 years of relevant semiconductor and systems experience.
- MS degree in engineering (EE – power electronics desired), with PhD degree preferred.

The expected annual pay range for this position is $180,000 - $270,000. This position is also eligible for STI bonus opportunities and commission pay. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
