Power Architect – System Design

Job Description

We are seeking a Power Architect specializing in System Design.

The Power Architect is responsible for power architecture definition, modeling, and technical leadership for PMIC, Charger, and emerging Multi-Level Converter (MLC)-based products within the CMX System Design team. This role provides architectural ownership and technical leadership from concept through silicon validation.

The role works closely with analog design, digital, verification, validation, test, and product engineering teams to ensure alignment of architecture intent, implementation, and verification across multiple programs.

Key Responsibilities

System Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Define and own power architectures for PMIC, Charger, and MLC-based converter products across multiple programs.

  • Drive architecture trade-offs and define operating modes, startup and shutdown sequencing, and system boundary conditions.

  • Provide architectural leadership and technical guidance for system-level design decisions across projects.

Modeling & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain low-level models to support architecture decisions and risk reduction, using tools such as Simplis.

  • Analyze stability, transient response, fault behavior, and corner cases to support architecture definition and validation.

  • Provide model-based insights to support analog design convergence and reduce silicon risk.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with analog design, digital, verification, validation, test, and applications teams to ensure architecture intent is implemented and verified.

  • Participate in design and architecture reviews and technical discussions across multiple programs.

  • Provide technical guidance during silicon validation and system-level debug activities.

Documentation & Knowledge Capture

  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, design guidelines, and best-practice references.

  • Create detailed sub-block specifications that enable design and verification teams to execute implementation and verification activities efficiently.

  • Capture lessons learned, root causes, and preventive actions to improve future designs.

  • Contribute to internal training, workshops, and technical knowledge sharing activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in power management ICs, Chargers, or advanced power converter designs, including DC/DC converters or mixed-signal systems.

  • Experience with power architecture and architectural analysis for power management products.

  • Familiarity with modeling tools such as Simplis and Simulink.

  • Ability to work across disciplines and influence technical decisions through collaboration and technical credibility.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and reviews.

Preferred

  • Experience contributing to PMIC, Charger, or MLC-based converter programs.

  • Familiarity with Multi-Level Converter (MLC) architectures or other advanced/novel power converter topologies.

  • Familiarity with multi-rail power systems and power sequencing.

  • Experience supporting silicon bring-up, validation, and root-cause analysis.
