Online Field Applications Engineer (Embedded Products)

Looking for a passionate Online Application Engineer to support customers online via Renesas Engineering Community and private ticketed system (myRenesas) on our MCU & Wireless Connectivity  product families: problem solving issues in a timely manner and providing technical responses to customers.

• Support customers on our MCU & Wireless Connectivity products via Renesas Engineering Community and via ticketed system.
• Providing technical responses to customers who post questions online.
• Feedback common issues / requests into the BUs as requirements for improvements / additions in documentation and/or Software / Tools / reference design deliverables.
• Debug customers issues in a timely manner: replicating issues and where appropriate coordinating response with Sales / Applications Teams WW.
• Work with the Application Teams WW for next level (L2) escalations for specialist support.
• Help managing/driving the online community.
• Commercially minded with ability to work both autonomously and as key team member.

Experience

• C programming know-how and experience in developing SW in embedded platforms
• Experienced with typical IDE’s & tool chains (e.g. Keil/IAR/ Eclipse based etc.) & debuggers.
• Experience in typical hardware peripherals and drivers
• Experienced with SW and/or HW debugging techniques.
• Understanding / experience of one or more Operating Systems (e.g. FreeRTOS, Azure OS, Zephyr  etc.)

• Knowledge
• Knowledgeable in high-level embedded C /  device drivers / middleware / utilities etc. .
• Any wireless experience (Bluetooth / WiFi) an advantage
• Any experience of working with customers / partners an advantage.

Skills

• Strong understanding of embedded software development & sound C skills, ideally from developing application firmware /demos etc
• Strong communication skills and be able to work / communicate in a multicultural environment.
• Strong collaboration skills

Abilities and other characteristics

• Ability to work with multiple issues in parallel in a fast-moving environment. Will be working on many open issues in parallel.
• Confident in ability to help/communicate complex issues 1-1 (f2f online and via email etc)
• Must be interested / passionate about embedded systems and MCU related matters.
