Online Field Applications Engineer (Digital)

Join us as a Field Applications Engineer  – Digital and play a key role in bringing customer ideas to life. You will provide hands-on technical expertise across embedded software, MCU, MPU, and wireless solutions, working closely with customers, distribution partners, and sales teams to secure design wins and drive business growth.

• Support customers on popular Catalog  Embedded Products (MCU/MPU/Wireless)
• Post sales : Provide personalised technical support online (email / teams etc) to understand customers problems & solve them with smart efficient use of resources (own knowledge & product line resources)
• Pre Sales : Work with sales teams on understanding customers requirements (product & application or use case)  to position REN products and solutions in an advantageous way.
• Support Partner FAE in distribution on enabling them win with REN products & solutions.
• Solving technical issues raised by partner FAE bring to you .
• Providing them with training materials / collaterals / demos etc they need to convince customers to use REN products or solutions.
• Be their ‘go to’ advocate within REN to enable partner FAE to be successful.
• Actively Participate in local business reviews with the relevant sales teams & partners and escalate / highlight gaps and issues needed to win customer sockets .

Experience 

• C programming know-how and experience in developing SW in embedded platforms
• Experienced with typical IDE’s & tool chains (e.g. Keil/IAR/ Eclipse based etc.) & debuggers.
• Experience in typical hardware peripherals and drivers
• Experienced with SW and/or HW debugging techniques.
• Understanding / experience of one or more Operating Systems (e.g. FreeRTOS, Azure OS, Zephyr  etc.)

     Knowledge

• Knowledgeable in high-level embedded C /  device drivers / middleware / utilities / .
• Knowledgeable in Communication Protocols & Interface buses like I2C, UART and SPI / Clocking & Timers / memory utilization etc.
• Any wireless experience (Bluetooth / WiFi) an advantage
• Any experience of working with customers / partners an advantage.

Skills

• Strong understanding of embedded software development & sound C skills, ideally from developing application firmware /demos etc
• Strong communication skills and be able to work / communicate in a multicultural environment.
• Good questioning techniques : ability to guide conversations via open & closed questions .

Abilities and other characteristics

• Ability to work with multiple issues in parallel in a fast-moving environment. Will be working on many open issues in parallel.
• Confident in ability to help/communicate complex issues 1-1 (f2f online and via email etc)
• Strong collaboration skills
• Must be interested / passionate about embedded systems and MCU related matters.
• Some limited travel may be necessary (<5%).

Qualifications

• Bachelors from Computer Science / Engineering Course or equivalent in relevant discipline
