Job Description

Renesas is looking for a Manager of Product Engineering to join our team to drive the manufacturing improvement activities for Performance Computing Power products.  It is a unique and exciting opportunity to work with a cross-functional team to address production inefficiencies, implement cost improvement plans to enhance yield, test time, throughput, and quality to support the corporate business objectives. The job scope includes but is not limited to; statistical analysis for yield/test time improvement, ATE software and hardware management, customer return and FA support, BOM maintenance and NPI support.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and manage a team of engineers to support high volume production manufacturing across all subcons.
  • Review and provide weekly reports for all production-released PCP products:
    • Yield/volume/failure trends
    • QA failures: first-pass analysis i.e. guardband issue/mis-trim
    • Report any excursions or limit violations.
  • Disposition of low yielding lots or production issues
  • Develop processes to improve test setup robustness/efficiency
  • Coordinate test program improvement opportunities and drive the execution
    • Limit optimization (e.g. PAT)
    • Test Time Reduction activities
  • Improve product quality by automation of reporting through leverage of PDF Exensio / GA cloud tools
    • Generate/Utilize/Rollout PDF EY/GA quality templates to detect and prevent potential quality excursions
    • GMII: Identify potential yield and test time reduction opportunities and drive the execution
  • NPI support:
    • HW checkout (GRR, correlation)
    • High volume sample readiness and coordination
    • Guide NPI products through the safe launch process upon production release.
    • Coordinate qualification and release of simple derivative NPI products

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in product engineering with BS degree. Knowledgeable of the production/operations environment. Familiarity with power products would be a plus.

• Experience with statistical data processing, problem solving methodologies, yield management.

• Experience in yield management tools such as PDF Exensio, GA, JMP. Apply statistical analysis to isolate the issue and make data-driven decisions.

• Knowledge of power device circuitry is a plus.

• Ability to managing supplier excursions and customer escalations through problem solving

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• A good team player. Effective in fast paced, dynamic work environment.

• BS in Electrical Engineering

• MS in Electrical Engineering is preferred
