About Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED is the central team that supports all Business Unit Design and Development teams, and other organizations including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Foundry Operations, and Test. OED provides a platform for managing all process technology and PDK development for both Internal and External Foundry processes. This strong and highly qualified team (mostly MS/PhD) adds strength in developing Test Technology, Foundry Operations, and Yield management. Our world class contributions lead to aggressive NPI strategies and continual cost and gross margin improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities: Support System Initiatives in Data Wrangling and ML/AI. Architect and develop solutions/tools to support Operations Engineering and Operations. Closely collaborate with all teams within the Operations team as well as other teams like ISD, SW&D and Product Line BUs to provide timely execution of projects and solutions necessary to achieve the goals of the Operations/OED organization. The new hire is expected to:
- Under the team leader’s directives, define and develop ML/AI models to improve Operations performance metrics
- Maintain skills to ensure competence to perform agreed upon responsibilities.
- Align with manager’s goals and initiatives to meet agreed-upon KPIs.
- Work independently with moderate level of supervision
- Mentor and train other members of the team in all technical aspects
- Manage third party vendor to deliver projects/solutions
- ML Model Development, Tools & Solutions and Data Analytics (System Initiatives and Tools):
- Architect, Design and implement Test Monitoring for Factory Systems for ATE and develop OEE Solutions. Work with vendors like PDF and NI and inhouse tools like GYM to support OED
- Work with external vendors and internal Renesas groups to develop customized specific ML/AI models to improve Operations metrics. Use these models and data analysis to proactively answer key questions for stakeholders or yourself, with an eye on what drives business performance, and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity
- Implement and automate (CI/CD) deployment and use of AI/ML models
- Support the Operations Digital Platform Strategy, collaborating with the Operations, IT and other teams on the technology implementation of Azure Data Lake. Support development of Azure Databricks and Azure ML + MLFlow
- Work to clean and provide Data Lake data to consumers in other BUs
- Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources
- Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting an appropriate combination of methods and tools within the defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution
- Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across dataset
- Collaborate with IT on common tool usage, cloud usage, infrastructure, security, and other system usage
- Collaborate with third party vendors like Microsoft, Amazon, Google etc (for configuration/development of solutions for Azure, AWS or GCP)
- Configure and Manage SharePoint for SI
- Preferably a BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent and 8+ years of related experience (Will consider candidates with 12+ years of related experience only)
- 6+ years in software development in Python or other programming languages
- 6+ years overall experience (total) in Data Science, Business Intelligence, Data Management / Platform
- Experience in PowerBI, Databricks on Azure
- Experience in CI/CD – use of Gitlab / Bitbucket or Cloud DevOps tools
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
- Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional/geographical borders
- 6+ years in team management
- Language proficiency: English
- Experience in ML Model development and deployment, Cloud applications, Docker, Kubernetes, JIRA and Confluence
- Language proficiency (written or verbal): Japanese or Chinese.
