As the Director of Functional Safety, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our semiconductor products within the Power Products Group. You will be responsible for defining and enforcing process flows across the organization, ensuring that each step of silicon development adheres to the highest standards of functional safety. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams, auditing processes, and maintaining external relationships with standard bodies responsible for ISO26262 and IEC61508. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and shape the functional safety practices within the Power Products Group, ensuring that our semiconductor products meet the highest safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and document process flows for functional safety within the Power Products Group.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define safety requirements and ensure their integration into the product development lifecycle.
- Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of functional safety processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Work closely with the Quality team to establish and maintain traceability of safety-related work products.
- Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices related to functional safety, particularly ISO26262 and IEC61508.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external standard bodies to ensure compliance and contribute to the advancement of functional safety standards.
- Provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure adherence to safety requirements throughout the development process.
- Lead the development and delivery of training programs to enhance the functional safety knowledge of employees within the organization.
- Collaborate with the Product Management team to define safety-related features and capabilities of new products.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of functional safety processes within the organization.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
Certification in functional safety (e.g., CFSE, TÜV)
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of functional safety standards, particularly ISO26262 and IEC61508.
- Extensive experience in the semiconductor industry, with a focus on functional safety.
- Proven track record in defining and implementing functional safety processes across a complex organization.
- In-depth understanding of the silicon development lifecycle and the integration of safety requirements throughout the process.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience conducting audits and ensuring compliance with relevant functional safety standards.
- Knowledge of relevant tools and methodologies used for functional safety analysis and verification.
- Certification in functional safety (e.g., CFSE, TÜV)
