(Contractor) Government Relations (India Strategy)

Job Description

This role works closely with the Government of India, State governments, Industry & Trade Associations (India & US, Japan) and Universities in areas of technology, standards, policy and research.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Researches and monitors government activities that could affect the organizations business and clients.
  2. Assists senior management and leadership with strategic planning for known and potential regulatory activities related to the business and industry.
  3. Builds and maintains professional relationships with members of federal, state, and local government entities and agencies.
  4. Joins trade associations and industry committees and seeks leadership roles.
  5. Collaborates with industry advocates to build areas of common interest.
  6. Testifies before government committees in support of the organization and/or industry.
  7. Introduces legislative and public policy changes that will support company operations.
  8. Supports media relations and serve as a spokesperson on issues associated with various government activities.
  9. Works with universities on relations including research and hiring opportunities.
  10. Build relationships with university to ensure skill development to ensure pipeline in the talent pool.
  11. Some domestic travel will be required for this job.

  3. Strong government contacts at local, state, and federal levels.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

 

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelors degree in Engineering/Business Administration/Political Science/Public Relations.  Masters/MBA preferred.
  2. Ten years of experience in advocacy or public policy with a focus on semicondutors
