Cloud Security Engineer
Please note: This role sits five (5) days on site at either our Frisco, TX or La Jolla, CA locations.

We are working on transitioning from classic desktop applications to Software As A Service cloud-based software model. We are looking for a talented Cloud Security Engineer to join our rapidly growing Production Engineering team. We want somebody who is passionate about security and is excited about solving challenging problems. As part of the R&D and Production Engineering team, you will need to think of a product’s success and contribute your skills and time as an investment to a revolutionary product. We’re an international team spanning multiple countries and time zones. As we provide software as a service we must provide reliable and secure service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Improve and maintain cloud security solutions for monitoring, detection, vulnerability remediation, and incident response for A365
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to provide solutions that drive business goals.
- Continuously monitor cloud infrastructure and respond to security incidents.
- Follow DevSecOps methodologies by automating security as much as possible and shifting security left.
- Play an active role in maintaining compliant infrastructure and policies.
- Continually review and recommend improvements to operational processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or Software Engineering.
- Experience with one or more cloud service providers, preferably AWS
- Deep understanding of cloud service architecture with emphasis on security in the cloud.
- Cloud/Security certifications a plus
- Solid understanding of modern information security methodologies and standards
- Hands-on experience with logging and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and identifying security threats
- Experience responding to security incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
- IaC, CI/CD, and other DevOps tooling experience.
- Ability to break down complex problems into manageable and understandable tasks.
Certifications (Highly Recommended):
- Entry/Mid: AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS).
- Senior/Advanced: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Experience Requirements:
- Focus on monitoring, alerting, and basic security configuration, often moving from a security analyst role as well as
- Independent work, pipeline creation, and implementing security tools.

- Cross-functional Collaboration: Acting as a liaison between security, developers, and operations teams to embed security into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Effective Communication & Coaching: Communicating complex technical security risks to non-technical stakeholders and coaching developers on secure coding patterns.
- Proactive Problem-Solving & Analysis: Identifying potential vulnerabilities and designing automated solutions (e.g., policy-as-code) rather than just acting as a "gatekeeper".

- "Security Champion" Mindset: Cultivating a culture of shared responsibility, where security is a "paved road" rather than a roadblock.
- Time Management & Detail Orientation: Managing multiple tasks and automated security tools while maintaining high accuracy in security configurations.
