Job Description

Renesas is seeking a highly motivated candidate in Electrical Engineering or related fields to join us as Associate Field Applications Engineer in our Farmington Hills office in Michigan. In this role, the candidate will collaborate closely with Sales, Field Applications Engineers, and Applications Engineers to advance automotive technologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the next generation of Renesas Automotive Products while developing technical skills and customer-facing communication within a global team environment. Please note that this position is intended for entry-level or early-career professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design-in process of Renesas Automotive Digital products, specifically microcontrollers, for advanced automotive applications.
  • Provide hands-on technical support in resolving customer issues to ensure the effective use of Renesas products.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to review electrical circuits and assist in embedded software debugging.
  • Work closely with global engineering teams for product requirement analysis, technical reviews, benchmarking, and troubleshooting.
  • Apply and expand your knowledge in real-world applications and the semiconductor industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field. No professional years of experience necessary.  
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits.
  • Customer Service experience. 
  • Any hands-on support or research experience in the automotive sector, especially involving electrical circuits and embedded software, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Real-Time OS and debugging on embedded systems is a plus.
  • Experience with automotive systems is a plus.
