Application Engineer
This engineer will work with senior level engineers to assist with product definition, circuit board designs, perform technical reviews, and provide analysis and troubleshooting of development boards and reference design kits.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with marketing, management and other engineering development teams to continually improve the usefulness and marketability of design solutions.
- Perform schematic design and PCB layout based on system requirements, datasheets, vendor reference designs, and engineering best practices.
- Peer review schematic and board layout based on engineering best practices.
- Perform component library management for inclusion of new symbols and footprints into the design toolset.
- Interface with global team members, partners, customers, and vendors to learn and understand existing and future components, requirements, standards and trends in the company and automotive industry.
- Assist with marketing demo preparation and coordination.
- BSEE or higher.
- 1-3 years of experience with electrical circuit design and analysis.
- Experience with reading and creating a schematic with an ECAD toolset such as Allegro, Orcad, Altium, PADS, Xpedition or other.
- Self-sufficient, fast learner and hands-on individual who can work in fast paced environment with changing priorities.
- Hands-on experience with various test and measurement tools: Oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, I2C/SPI programmer/analyzer, soldering workstation, benchtop power supply, multi-meter, etc…
- Team player with excellent English communication skills including documentation of design work and methodology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to navigate Windows OS applications and solve basic configuration issues. Experience navigating Linux CLI for basic tasks.
- Some local and global travel required.
The following skills (in no particular order) will be added advantages:
- Familiarity with design requirements of various communication buses such as: USB, CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, PCIe, etc…
- Hands-on experience with SoC or complex power sequencing.
- Experience with Embedded C and Python programming.
- Familiarity with HyperLynx or other high-speed signal simulation software.
- Familiarity with SPICE, PSPICE, LT Spice, Mathcad, etc.
- Knowledge of DDR and LPDDR memory interfaces.
- Hands on experience with EMI/EMC performance analysis, debug, and testing.
