Staff Project/Program Design Manager


Job Description

What you will do:

  • Lead New Product Introduction efforts to ensure delivery on schedule, on budget and meeting market requirements
    • Partner with product definers and customers to set project scope and requirements
    • Work with functional area managers to identify needed resources
    • Engage with functional area leaders to build and drive the program to completion
    • Identify and mitigate risks to program success
  • Advise and report on program progress and priorities
    • Track all items required for NPI
    • Ensure adherence to NPI process and industry standards
    • Provide regular communication to senior leaders and customers on program progress, risks and challenges
  • Solve problems
    • Anticipate:      Identify risks early.  Plan for contingencies.
    • Prevent:         Find opportunities to prevent problems before they manifest
    • React:            Work with managers and technical leader staff to coordinate solutions
  • Drive improvements in our processes
    • Perform end-of-project reviews to identify and close gaps in our processes and milestone signoffs
    • Partner with functional area leaders and peer program managers to align and refine best practices for new product introduction

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in semiconductor (or adjacent) new product development in a technical role (Applications, Operations, PE, TE, Reliability, Design, Packaging, etc.)
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering complex technical programs to market
  • Working knowledge of program management best practices and tools
  • Business Acumen - Understands financial considerations in product development and portfolio management
  • Strong communication skills – ability to quickly and succinctly communicate complex technical content to non-area experts. You can translate across between technical verticals, customers, and management. 
  • Flexibility – Comfortable working in emerging technologies with ambiguous or changing requirements may require abrupt and significant changes to project scopes and plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics or similar discipline is required
  • 5+ years in a technical role is required
  • Experience in power electronics or automotive NPI is a plus
  • PMP certification is a plus

Additional Information

The position is hybrid. Candidates have to leave in travel distance.
