This is an Intern position for a qualified individual to work in Renesas’ Operations Group in our Process
Engineering Group in a 24x7 wafer fab producing wafers in BiCMOS, CMOS, and
bipolar silicon technologies. Target training and development will be within the thin films area along with
multi-disciplinary exposure to ION implantation and plasma etch.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Exposure to thin film processes and
equipment including Plasma Enhanced
Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD)
dielectrics, Atmospheric CVD (ACVD)
dielectrics, and Physical Vapor Deposition
(PVD) of high purity metals.
• Learn the metrology equipment used to
characterize and measure the films.
These metrology tools include multiple
forms of spectroscopy, X-Ray, and
electrical evaluation methods.
• Learn how these processes interact with
CMOS/DMOS and bipolar devices used to
manufacture silicon semiconductors used
in the commercial and industrial
marketplace. 
• Responsibilities include learning the
manufacturing process assignments, and
applying that knowledge to optimize
cost, quality, and cycle time.


QUALIFICATIONS
• Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s
degree or higher, in
microelectronic, materials, chemical,
electrical engineering or similar
engineering degree
• Willingness to work in a clean room
environment and follow strict clean room
requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving
skills
• Strong multitasking abilities
• Qualified to work in an ITAR environment
• Coursework/design experience with
Cadence software tools is a requirement,
as well as functional knowledge of Excel,
PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word.
