Title:  Senior/Principal Application Engineer

Working as a Senior/Principal Application Engineer – based in Tokyo, you will:

• Develop necessary hardware and software to enable comprehensive silicon device evaluation: PCB schematic and layout design, automation software
• Conduct power IC evaluations and debugging on chip and board level
• Create technical documents (datasheet, evaluation report, application note)
• Plan and lead device evaluation, develop manual and automated bench test methods
• Document errata to support necessary device modifications
• Support internal design engineers, FAEs, and external customers to solve technical issues
• Work with technical marketing, system architect, and design engineers to define IC functions and specifications
• Provide first line technical support and reports during customer design phase
• Work with Quality, Test, and Product engineers for device testing and qualification

What We Are Looking For?

• Results-oriented and able to manage time efficiently and complete tasks on schedule
• Degree level qualification in E&E engineering or a related discipline typically required
• 5+ years (senior) or 8+ years (principal) experience as application engineer or FAE in switcher, charger, or similar power management field
• Extensive hands-on experience with power device verification and performance evaluation
• Applications and system level knowledge of Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, LDO, Charger, and other power management systems
• Experience with power PCB design and passive component selection
• Customer facing experience is a plus
• Written and verbal English communication skill
• Experience or knowledge in Python scripting or similar is welcome
• Ability to mentor technical skills for junior engineers
• May require overseas business travel for training and customer support
