This is a critical role directing Renesas process technology strategy focusing on balancing cost, supply and competitiveness to meet revenue and gross margin goals. As director of process technology, you will lead strategic engagements with outside foundries for joint developments that underpins the products that we can design and markets we can address. This is a customer facing role where you will be expected to manage project resources and technical requirements.

Position Summary:


  • Development of process technology roadmap that enable Renesas to address strategic market and customer opportunities
  • Timely execution of process technology roadmap to enable Renesas to secure above design wins
  • Manage foundry performance & conduct QTR including action plans for technology, delivery, capacity and costs
  • Availability of accurate silicon design kits enabling minimised design iterations due to simulation vs silicon mis-matches
  • Development of world class process engineering and silicon modelling team to ensure 3 above
  • Maximise yields on key technologies, thus maximising margins



Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Ph.D is preferred; not required)
  • 10 + years of relevant industrial experience ideally gained at fabless
  • Ability to lead, drive and motivate highly educated high tech professionals focused on process development
  • Excellent communicator, with ability to communicate complex technical issues related to process technologies and silicon modelling to a wide audience. This breath of audience includes range of technically skilled and hierarchy.
  • Proven ability to interact with diverse international cultures, negotiating with foundries, vendors, customers or management in matters of significance to org.
  • Ability to drive 3rd party process technology partners to deliver processes optimised to Renesas product requirements
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise to meet commitments in fast paced dynamic environment
  • Ability to challenge status quo and bring-in innovation to influence product revenue and margins
  • International experience with USA and Asian cultures is highly desirable
  • Definition and delivery of process technology roadmap to satisfy Renesas product strategy
  • Direct BU and design engineering on leading edge technologies to expand company revenue and competitiveness
  • Drive foundry process technology with internal/external foundries to execute product and process roadmap
  • Develop specialized device structures with foundry partners to offer differentiated product features.
  • Lead foundry engagement from R&D to transferring technology suitable for high volume production
  • Leadership, motivation and development of processes/silicon teams across geographies
  • Strategic customer interface to ensure process technology roadmap enables continued design win opportunities.
  • Support of yield and quality improvement analysis to maximize company and profit margin
