Position:  Regional Customer Quality Engineering Manager

 Location:  Seoul, Korea



To further strengthen our QA Team at our Seoul location we are looking for a Regional Customer Quality Engineering Manager.  This is a hand’s on management role.


Basic Qualifications

  • Coordinate failure analysis activities with responsible product, failure analysis and factory engineering groups.
  • Ensure that all regional customer inquiries are satisfied on a timely basis.
  • Support rapid completion failure analysis reports for customers and interface with sales and customer representatives.
  • Support quick turnaround of customer RMA's from the region by providing product and field engineering support using standardized tools to discover root cause, help define corrective actions, and communicate status to BU, Sales, and End Customer.
  • Support NPI to regional customers and provide rapid response to customer and BU related applications issues.
  • Interact extensively with personnel in the Failure Analysis, Circuit Design, and BU product Engineering groups.
  • Support product lines and factory in development of quality indicators and reporting
  • Experienced engineering staff manager


Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to apply standard problem solving tools to drive to root cause quickly.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently negotiate between customer and business unit and/or factories to quickly close open issues with customers. 
  • Must be both customer advocate and business oriented with the ability to negotiate between these sometimes competing interests.
  • Good knowledge of semiconductor industry processes and qualification/reliability requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (both English and Korean).
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability and desire to manage and mentor less experienced Staff QA/FA Engineers in local regional office.
  • Familiarity with American and/or Japanese corporate cultures and Korean companies is highly desirable.
  • Good team player with the ability to work across multiple disciplines (Engineering, Sales, Marketing & Manufacturing) and interface with customers.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis and industry standard problem solving skills


Education and/or Experience:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. M.S. is highly desirable.
  • 10+ years experience in Product, Field Applications, Failure Analysis or Quality Engineering.
  • 3+ years experience engineering management
