System Engineering  Intern (Hardware)

The SST group has a 12 week, 40 hr/wk summer Intern opening in the System Engineering group. The individual is part of an overall team that researches, architects, designs and builds system end products and modules using Renesas components.

The intern is part of a team that exposes him/her to all facets of the design cycle and will have an opportunity to participate in phase of the project. The position requires one to research the final product/ problem, formulate thoughts and ideas utilizing their own creative juices as well as receiving inputs from peers and the product line(s) and propose solutions. It is a highly interactive role.

To solve problems, the Intern will utilize the following equipment in a lab setting;

 

  • Power Supplies
  • Arbitrary Waveform Generators
  • Oscilloscope
  • Logic analyzer
  • Networks Analyzer
  • System Engineering Summer Intern (Hardware)

    The individual is part of a team that exposes him/her to all facets of the design cycle. He/She will have an opportunity to participate in each phase of the project. The position requires one to research the final product/ problem, formulate thoughts and ideas utilizing their own creative juices as well as receiving inputs from peers and the product line(s) and propose a solution to the problem. It is a highly interactive role. Upon review, the project is designed, debugged and demonstrated. All of which requires participation.

    To solve the problem, the Intern will utilize the following equipment in a lab setting;

     
    • Power Supplies
    • Arbitrary Waveform Generators
    • Oscilloscope
    • Logic analyzer
    • Networks Analyzer
    • Load Supplies.
    • Soldering equipment
     

    The project requires some MCU knowledge. Experience with Eclipse E2Studio IDE and embedded C coding is a bonus.

    The project services either IOT, Home automation or Industrial markets.

    His/Her field of study is in computer or electrical engineering with a concentration in one of the following fields of study Analog, Digital, Power, Sensors or Control Theory (Motor Control). 

    The individual considered for the position is either a new college grad or an attending student with 3 years education. Post graduate applicants are desired. The candidate should have high energy, willingness to learn and the ability to work with others.  Ideally, the candidate has exposure and an understanding (does not need to be the expert) of software principles.
