Position: Sr Staff Product Marketing Manager – High-speed Optical Communications Products

Renesas is a leading supplier of high-speed analog ICs used in telecom and datacom networking systems. Renesas is seeking an experienced leader to promote advanced Driver, TIA and CDR products that serve these systems. The ideal candidate will be expected to engage in all aspects of a product life cycle, from product definitions and business proposals to managing matured products. He or she will be leading the design-in and revenue growth by working with key customers and partners.

 

This position requires a close working relationship with customers and international and domestic travel. The position is based in San Jose, CA.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Works with customers, Sales, FAEs and Application engineers to support design-in and proper support of customer development efforts
  • Works with development engineering teams to plan new product ideas in the roadmap, specify new products and identify opportunities.
  • Develops competitive analysis, market analysis, identify gaps and pain points, and define plans with a clear value proposition and differentiations. Creates system level requirements, MRD and PRD of the products
  • Develops comprehensive business and financial plans and validate them via customer engagements. Presents plans to the executive team to achieve approval of the business case.
  • Visit customers and partners to present the product roadmap, and act as an evangelist of the Renesas product portfolio. Influence customers and partners to engage closely with Renesas to solve critical problems in the industry.

 

Requirements:

  • BSEE or equivalent is essential; MSEE desired and MBA is a plus.
  • Successful track record of defining and marketing new products, with concrete business exposure.
  • 10+ years of industry related experience in high-speed Ethernet components, transceivers or systems
  • Deep understanding of telecom and datacom business trends, technology, competitors, ecosystem, and customer needs.
  • Experience working and negotiating with 3rd party partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills: presentation creation/delivery, public speaking, and written.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and a strong drive to take ownership to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to influence and convince internal and external customers.

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Familiarity with Chinese or Japanese is a plus.
