This is an opportunity to join Renesas Data Center Division, which has multiple industry-leading products in production and is developing several attractive new products for the future market. You will join the team to develop the next-generation device with an embedded processor subsystem, security function and other connectivity features. 

 

Renesas is looking for experienced Digital IC Design Engineering candidates that will be working on designing and architecting our embedded processor system, and related peripheral IP design/integration. Design scope includes embedded MCUs, volatile and non-volatile memory system, digital signal processing, security function, and industry-standard bus interfaces. This position requires the hands-on experience of embedded processor subsystem and related IP development.  This includes but not limited to MCU, peripheral IP, and memory IP selection, partitioning of hardware/firmware, device prototyping.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
• Embedded processor architecture, design, and integration: MCU and peripherals, memory, on-chip bus system, DMA and interrupt system
• IP design, simulation, and release in Verilog/SystemVerilog
• Chip level synthesis, timing check, DFT, and floorplan in a Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit
• Work with firmware team and FPGA team on debugging and emulation
• Work with Product, Test, and Applications Engineering to complete product release
 
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M series MCU and peripherals
• Experience with designing, architecting and integrating Digital IP
• Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog for digital design and verification
• Experience with Synthesis, Timing Check, and DFT design
• Experience creating block and chip-level verification tests 
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
 
Preferred Skills/Knowledge:
• Circuit level or mixed-signal design experience
• Embedded Flash controller related experience
• Security IP (Hash, Encryption/Decryption, Authentication) related experience
• FPGA mapping or digital design experience
• Programming/scripting skills such as C, Assembly, Perl, Python, etc.
• Firmware development experience
• Language fluency in Japanese or Chinese Mandarin
