Renesas Electronics America is seeking an Senior Failure Engineer, with 3 - 5 years of experience to perform hands on failure analysis on a wide array of products and technologies.

The diversity in the technologies and product functions will provide the applicant with broad experience and rewarding challenges that will certainly develop a successful failure analysis engineers experience base.



The successful candidate will work with varied cross functional teams across multiple geographies to:

  • Resolve the cause of failures sourced during new product developments
  • Customer field failures and manufacturing issues causing yield impacts
  • Proficient in the use of typical failure analysis and laboratory tools like power supplies multimeters, curve tracers, oscilloscopes as well as photon emission, laser-based microscope systems, X-Ray, and acoustic microscope systems.
  • Expected to perform chemical delayering and other PFA related procedures
  • Summarize the results of their analysis work in well thought out and concisely written technical reports within the established cycle time requirements


This is an exciting and challenging position that offers a flexible schedule, it does require the candidate to be onsite in the laboratory environment.



  • BSEE minimum, MSEE preferred or related STEM field



Additional Information

  • $97,400 - $146,100 annualized salary range (Note: Disclosure as required by SB 1162 (9-27-22) for California)
  • Please note that the compensation details listed reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
