Quality Assurance & Reliability Engineer (Automotive product Support)

Location: San Jose, CA

 
Renesas Electronics America, Inc. is looking for a Quality Assurance & Reliability Engineer interested in being part of the Quality Assurance team located in San Jose, California supporting Automotive products and customers.

Responsibilities:

 

This engineer is responsible to manage multiple customer accounts supporting the following items listed below:

• First line Customer interface for quality issues, FA claims registration, reporting, meeting to explain our FA report and environmental information. 
• Support Sales & Marketing to answer technical questions regarding product quality.
• Manage QMS requirements to maintain IATF16949 certification for automotive business.
• PPAP, PSW, PCN (Product change Notification) support, generation, and submission for automotive Customers
• Support requests for Reliability Report/Data, Qualification Report/Data, FIT Rate, environmental report (RoHS, REACH and EICC) and Soft Error Rate (SER), etc.
• Support Internal, External (IATF16949), and Customer audits
• Perform Customer spec reviews and answer Customer questionnaires
• Communicate with overseas offices to request necessary data to answer customer & sales inquiries.
• OEM customer support for new business & technical issues
• Create product quality presentations for Sales & Marking campaigns to customers.
• Other projects as assigned
• Support new automotive products qualification and reliability qualification process

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum 8 years + BSEE or 6 Years + MSEE experience as Customer Quality Assurance Engineer supporting automotive Tier1 customers:
  • Answering Customer technical questions
  • AEC-Q100 revision H and AEC-006 qualification 
  • Production Line audit experience (VDA6.3 audit style) 
  • Customer Claim Support
  • Environmental (RoHS, REACH, EICC)
  • PPAP, PSW, & PCN submission
  • 8D Problem Solving report
  • TS16949 or IATF16949 certification requirements
  • Support new automotive products qualification and reliability test
  • Experience working with Automotive customer is desired.
  • Basic Semiconductor Physics, working knowledge of CMOS logic design and layout, MOSFET structure, Microcontroller Architecture, basic semiconductor reliability test skill and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • QMS (Quality Management System)
  • Available to support domestic & international business travel, though limited.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills including time management
  • Proficient in MS Office
