Job Description:

  • Develop and execute Design Verification Testing (DVT) plans for CDRs, drivers and TIAs for optical transceivers
  • Designs, debugs, and documents evaluation boards, reference designs and associated software
  • System level knowledge of optical transceiver interfaces
  • Provides prompt and insightful technical assistance to customers
  • Support sales design-in efforts with lab data on next generation products
  • Occasionally travel to provide technical assistance and/or training to customers, sales partners and IDT Sales staff

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics or related technical degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years in RF/microwave – optical engineering design/applications experience
  • Strong bench skills
  • Ability to resolve in depth technical issues with the customer and at the customer's location

 

Preferred Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of optical transceiver components such as CDRs, drivers and TIAs
  • Hands on experience with lab equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, DCAs and BERTs
  • Familiarity with board design and layout tools such as Allegro
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate with internal groups and multiple customer engagements.
  • Experience with lab automation, GUI software, MCU firmware preferable
