A Sr Staff test engineer develops IC test solutions for Industrial Power integrated circuits.  The engineering responsibility will include developing test methodologies for new products, defining test schematic, layout and hardware, test program development, debug, correlation and transfer to manufacturing site. Sr Staff engineers are expected to create or review best practices in the semiconductor industry and assist in implementing those best practices at Renesas. Sr Staff engineers advise on design for testability (DfT), implement test throughput enhancements, and identify and eliminate tester yield issues when appropriate. Participate on new product development team and evaluate new test systems for future applications. Participate on internal test council or other guiding technical groups to make  improvements in the test NPI process. Interface with manufacturing as required.



  • Teradyne Eagle 364 or Teradyne Micro/Flex system experience
  • Experience in new product test solution development, debug and release to production
  • Software coding, software build, and software release skills for semiconductor test
  • Skilled in hardware and software debug in a lab environment
  • Skilled at independent data analysis of semiconductor analog and digital data
  • Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for semiconductor test hardware and software design
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
  • Proficient in JMP, Spotfire, R+/S+ scripting or other similar data analysis tool
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Lab experience with bench top instrumentation also recommended
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills



  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer engineering or Computer science
  • 12 years of experience test H/W and test program development
