 Our team seeking a Sr. Staff Power Management Applications Engineer for our Palm Bay, Florida location. This is an onsite position. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Power Management Senior Staff Applications engineer for the Rad Hard product line: 
  • Work with Marketing, Design Engineering, and Product Engineering to define new products to service the satellite marketplace. Products will include point of load switching regulators, controllers and drivers along with low drop-out linear regulators.  
  • Will be responsible for the documentation of the new product definition.
  • Must perform and document validation testing on the new product to ensure that it meets the definition.
  • Work with Design Engineering to resolve any performance short falls in the new product.
  • Plan, direct, analyze, and document single event effects testing results on the new products.
  • Oversee outsourced development of Spice and Simplis models of the new parts
  • Perform and document model validation study against the actual part.
  • Generate the data-sheet for web posting, and in some cases generate the SMD.
  • Design and validate a customer evaluation board for the new part.
  • Generate necessary customer user notes and applications notes.  
  • Assume support role for some existing products and provide customer support on these parts as well as the new parts.
  • Occasionally travel with Marketing to meet with customers to discuss new product ideas. 
     

Requirements

  • BSEE & 10-15 years’ experience as an Applications Engineer for an IC production company.
  • Ability to author technical documentation suitable for publication.
  • Ability to work well in a team (Marketing, Design, Product) environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and respond to their questions.
  • Knowledge of switching and linear regulators and their applications.
  • Solid working knowledge of electrical lab equipment and techniques to support the validation and characterization tasks.
  • Ability to locate to or reside in Palm Bay, Florida.
  • US citizenship or the ability to obtain an H1B visa.

  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
