The Senior Import & Export Analyst or (Trade Compliance Analyst/Trade Compliance Specialist -TCA/TCS) supports specific export/import functions (including systems support such as SAP / GTS, jurisdiction and classification determination, licensing and import processes). The Senior Import & Export Analyst or TCA/TCS responsibilities may vary from case to case depending upon the specific requirements for various required tasks.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Provides specialized expertise for Trade Compliance export and import activities through knowledge of all applicable export/import regulations.

• May act as a lead in export/import activities, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

• Assists with internal or external audits and assessments as directed by TCD functional management.

• Responsible for creating reports and maintaining records providing updates to management regarding current/ pending compliance regulations, initiatives, or legislation to ensure matters are kept up to date as required.

• Determining Export Control Classifications (HTS, ECCN / USML) of Renesas products

• Preparing and submitting export and import licenses for EAR and ITAR controlled products

• Preparing licensing/agreement internal control plans and conducting proviso reviews.

• Interpreting technical information and processes, understanding the jurisdictional application of governmental regulations and working collaboratively with Business Management, Supply Chain, Logistics and Sales teams to deliver creative and customer focused solutions.

• Making formal presentations in meetings, training environments and responding to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors related to export/import compliance.

• Ability to travel 15% - 25% annually as required by duties of the role.

 

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

 

• Must have understanding of, and applicable experience working with Import/Export Trade Compliance procedures and applicable regulations. ( U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), U.S. Customs and Border Protection Regulations, Japan’s export control regulations, EU export/import regulations, etc.)

· Must have broad knowledge of risk assessment and internal compliance controls.

· Ability to positively influence and collaborate within diverse teams, of which members are often globally dispersed with different cultural and communication styles.

· Highly analytical, high ethical standards, organized individual with ability to process details efficiently and accurately and exhibits excellent follow up.

· English language skills; other languages helpful. (Japanese and/or Mandarin highly desired)

· Experience with Data Analytics, SAP and SAP GTS is strongly preferred.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as responsible for hosting and leading group presentations, team trainings, team meetings and conferences with management + key stakeholders.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, web-browsers, and database management tools

• Must be a self starter with the ability to research, problem- solve and see a task though to completion as this is a remote role. Communication skills are key in this role with the focus on providing a stellar customer experience.

• Ability to formally communicate at all levels of the organization in written and verbal form.

• Must act as a team player working with a remote, diverse team.

 

Education Level

 

· Bachelor’s Degree (B.S., B.A.) or non-US equivalent, required.

· A minimum of 8+ years of related experience, required.

· A minimum of 5+ years of direct experience in Trade Compliance strongly preferred.

· A combination of education and experience may be accepted.

· Licensed Customs Broker preferred.
