Job Description:

Responsible for defining, executing, and institutionalizing the vision, global strategy, and overall product road map of the RA MCU and wireless embedded software.  Define and position a series of software releases within a broad new MCU family and wireless devices, responsible for success over entire life cycle of products. Work closely with internal teams and external third parties to define and implement a vastly differentiated MCU and wireless software and solution enablement. Responsible for MCU series software requirements and oversee releases. Work with MCU and wireless silicon design teams and embedded software development teams to create software requirements and coordinate implementation to ensure performance, feature, and cost targets are met. Drive internal and external resources to ensure readiness of all aspects of product releases. Manage prioritization and trade-offs against engineering and schedule limitations, customer experience, cost, and time to market. Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, technical, engineering, and schedule goals. Develop solutions and business cases for applicable for MCU, AI/ML and wireless application market segments including one or more of: Healthcare/Fitness, Building/Factory Automation, Smart Energy, Appliances, Consumer, and Internet of Things as applied to these segments. 



At least seven (7) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in job offered, or as a Product Marketing Engineer, Staff Applications Engineer, Product Manager, Embedded Software Engineer, or related Product/Segment Marketing and Business Development occupation in the semiconductor industry.
Ability to create, manage, and lead long-range complex software projects between numerous internal and external teams and partners.


Specialized knowledge:
Knowledge of semiconductor industry including general distribution knowledge, FAE training, Design Win processes, etc. (Familiarity with the Renesas ARM microcontrollers such Synergy or RA and its ecosystem a plus).
Customer requirements gathering, market research, trend analysis & competitive positioning for embedded applications
Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) including support for business development, software patching, and end of life maintenance
Definition & development of embedded software, board support packages, middleware, or realtime operating systems for mass-market devices, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML)
Knowledge about business development, field sales efforts, customer-facing engineering and identification of new sub-segments to expand addressable market



Master of Science or foreign degree equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field (e.g. Computer Science) OR
Bachelor of Science or foreign degree equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field and MBA
