Responsible for product engineering and program management activities during new product development. Manage cross functional product development teams on multiple projects using project managing disciplines to successfully develop plan, execute to plan, maintain schedules, manage risks, remove barriers, resolve issues, lead problem solving sessions, report status in management reviews, interface with other engineering disciplines and various levels of management.  Hold a regular meeting with Development team or Senior Management to go over product release progress.  All commitments vs. actual are reviewed in this meeting to ensure release of product is on time.

 

Some activities include; wafer fab and assembly coordination, silicon validation, yield analysis, parametric characterization, reliability testing/qualification, manufacturability verification, product cost analysis, and transfer to manufacturing.  Also responsible for Sustaining products with cost reduction and yield improvements initiatives.   Candidate will be applying for a dual role Product Engineer and Program Manager.  The role is 40% Program Manager and 60% Product Engineer.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Seeking a Senior/Staff level Product and Program Manager to work on product development for Power Management IC, Batter Managements System, and Video Signal Processing products. In addition, supporting product issues, manufacturing issue and customer issue during Life cycle of products in mass production.    

 

  • Program manage execution of all development processes across multiple disciplines (Design, Application, Functional Safety, Reliability, Packaging, Process and Test Engineering)
  • Chair a weekly internal meeting with management and engineers on the status, health and key activities of your projects. Personally, prepare the material for these forums
  • Meet regularly with your team members and work effectively with all functional areas
  • Ensure open engineering issues are properly tagged, prioritized and delivered
  • Oversee development processes and ensure best practices are delivered on-time with high quality
  • Outline and drive validation plan for both ATE and bench for the project to meet both Automotive customer requirements
  • Execute validation plan and develop some reports to the team that meets technical, marketing and design requirement
  • Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Experience in working with and leading new product development teams through definition, design, characterization, qualification, manufacturing transfer, and product release
  • Able to step into a difficult sustaining escalation, analyze data from various sources and working with experts when necessary, providing a detailed action plan suitable for execution
  • Help to prepare a product for obsolescence or transfer to Supply Chain Management ownership including closing known issues, disposition of inventory and transfer of documentation and knowledge

 

Requirements:

  • BSEE (MSEE pref.) or technical equivalent with a min of 15 years’ experience in a Product Engineering role or program management role
  • PMP certification desired but not required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with Cadence tools desired. Unix operating system knowledge and lab experience with bench top instrumentation also recommended. Statistical analysis capability
  • Working knowledge of circuit theory, semiconductor technology, mixed signal circuits, statistical analysis, wafer fabrication, IC packaging, reliability testing, ATE testing, and failure analysis
