This is an opportunity to join a top-notch PMIC Design Team with Renesas Electronics America’s Core Power Product business unit.  As part of one of Renesas’s most prominent design groups, this Engineer will work on next-generation IC products for multiple fast paced consumer power products. 

 

What we need:
The Design team is seeking for a Sr. Staff PMIC Analog Design Engineer who is technically savvy and is excited about working on cutting edge power solutions consumers and industrial applications. You will support all operations activity and be the champion in managing our processes and systems, interfacing with multiple departments and external customers.  Given the wide range of responsibility, we’re looking for someone eager to learn, ready to hit the ground running, and help define what Design means for Renesas. This opportunity will allow you to open pathways to owning a greater level of responsibility in the team and across Renesas. What you’ll do

  • Perform transistor level design of analog/power circuits for brand new and derivative complex power management chips that may include multiple power handling modules along with synthesized digital circuitry
  • Specification and design of CMOS/BCD power management circuits meeting performance, area, power and timescale constraints
  • Interface with layout, verification, test, and Application engineers to successfully bring new products from initial concept through release to production
  • Participate in discussions and draft documents of technical issues and other design aspects with internal teams and customers
  • Instigate regular peer reviews with analog design engineers
  • Guide the layout of circuit blocks for high speed performance and precision operations
  • Design high voltage amplifier with both excellent frequency domain and time domain response 
  • Support module level and sub-system level and system level integration

 

Skills you’ll need

  • BSEE required (MSEE/PhD preferred) 
  • 8-15 Years’ experience in Product Design required
  • Must have design experience with several of the following: switching regulators modulators, switching regulator integrated PowerFet and drivers, LDOs, precision amplifiers, oscillators, bandgap references, switched-capacitor circuits, A/D-D/A data converters. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Design experience in CMOS/BICMOS required
  • Experience working with small geometry BCD processes is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Mixed-Signal Cadence tools and parasitic parameter extraction preferred
  • Must have highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills
